At times, even the living appear to be ghosts as what was once living seems to die.

The ground soaks up the sunshine and the rain. The grass grows in beauty and splendor. The wind brushes through the trees. The raven calls. The silence is deafening so … Continue reading The idol life – Filling the void.
Jesus can take something broken, filthy, despised, and decrepit and make it new, fresh, and beautiful.
We are masters of not listening and shutting others off. Let’s determine to listen when others come in love to turn us back towards Christ and away from sin.
Communication is an important aspect of encouraging change in others, and having others encourage change in us. Communication is necessary. Let’s be diligent to improve our skills and function out of a heart of love in order to effect spiritual change in the lives of those we minister to.
There is a great passage in Scripture. It is found in Mark 6:1-6. Jesus has been out doing ministry and returns to His hometown. On the Sabbath, as He is … Continue reading What others cannot see.
It’s been a while since I’ve written a post. Time has a way of slipping past us like that. A day becomes a week, becomes a month, becomes two months…you get the point.
It can be that way in all areas of our life. Our relationship with God and with people, our financial responsibility, our spiritual growth. One day we are doing well, the next we slip, then slip again. We tumble, then downright fall flat on our faces. Time goes on and we sit back complaining instead of working on change.
By the way, just something I have learned along the way, things do not change on their own. You have to move. You have to decide. You have to become the change you wish to see.
Change is hard. And sometimes, let’s be brutally honest, change can be devastating. It can mean leaving everything we are comfortable with. It can mean giving up the good for something that is better. It can mean going through something unbelievably difficult in order to come out the other side victorious. Yet, if we resist the change, resist what God is doing, we can get stuck in the difficult parts. We become engrossed with the hurt and the pain and we slowly rot away in our spirit. Even worse, we lose focus and forget what the change was for initially.
Friends, let’s be the change we wish to see in our world. Let’s be the change we wish to see in our community, our families, and our churches. If you know me, hold me accountable. Please. Much love to those with me in the New Year. Let’s be the change in 2019. If God is willing to use anyone, then He can use me. Here I am Lord, send me.
I have been focusing on prayer lately. It is a topic often overlooked. When prayer is mentioned our minds fly to being thankful for a meal or bedtime tuck-in. I … Continue reading Because of persistence…
