It’s been a while…

It’s been a while since I’ve written a post. Time has a way of slipping past us like that. A day becomes a week, becomes a month, becomes two months…you get the point.

It can be that way in all areas of our life. Our relationship with God and with people, our financial responsibility, our spiritual growth. One day we are doing well, the next we slip, then slip again. We tumble, then downright fall flat on our faces. Time goes on and we sit back complaining instead of working on change.

By the way, just something I have learned along the way, things do not change on their own. You have to move. You have to decide. You have to become the change you wish to see.

Change is hard. And sometimes, let’s be brutally honest, change can be devastating. It can mean leaving everything we are comfortable with. It can mean giving up the good for something that is better. It can mean going through something unbelievably difficult in order to come out the other side victorious. Yet, if we resist the change, resist what God is doing, we can get stuck in the difficult parts. We become engrossed with the hurt and the pain and we slowly rot away in our spirit. Even worse, we lose focus and forget what the change was for initially.

Friends, let’s be the change we wish to see in our world. Let’s be the change we wish to see in our community, our families, and our churches. If you know me, hold me accountable. Please. Much love to those with me in the New Year. Let’s be the change in 2019. If God is willing to use anyone, then He can use me. Here I am Lord, send me.
