In the deepest parts is where the beauty lies. The things not laid bare for those in the shallows to see.
In the deep is where things change. The deep is where we become entranced with our surrounding – the noise of all in the shallows disappears. All we hear is the stillness that surrounds us and calls us to experience more than the shallows offers.
The deep is what we have been called to. We were made to dive – not sit waist deep in the water with sand between our toes.
Is there danger in the deep? Of course, but without the deep, we never swim. Without the deep, we never experience true life.
The deep is where we learn to listen intently, to appreciate our surroundings, to be filled with awe and wonder. In the deep is where we learn to trust the Master.
A life of faith cannot be lived in the shallows. A life of faith requires us to dive deep into that faith. It requires us to be deep enough that the noise of our shallow surroundings and life are drowned out by His voice.
We were called to live a life of faith in the deep end, not the shallows. Our faith requires us to listen, understand, and obey His call, His voice. It requires us to dive deep and live in a way that others do not, a way that others refuse to accept.
Living in the deep end opens a whole new world for us to explore with the Master. And it is here, in the deep end of our faith, that we find ourselves lost in His presence, intent on living for Him. Intent on pleasing Him.
A life of faith cannot be lived in the shallows. A life of faith requires us to dive deep into that faith.
“Many, O Lord my God, are the wonders which You have done, And Your thoughts toward us; There is none to compare with You. If I would declare and speak of them, They would be too numerous to count.” Psalm 40:5
