Satisfaction.

Everyone wants to find satisfaction in life.

We want to be filled. We want to be sustained. We want to be satisfied with ourselves, our lives, our surroundings.

Satisfaction, however, is fleeting. What satisfies today, seems like not enough for tomorrow. What fulfills this moment, leaves us empty the next.

There is only one thing that brings true satisfaction – Christ.

Matthew 5:6 says, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.”

Christ compares Himself to bread – the very sustenance of life (John 6:48), and to living water that will spring up within allowing us to never thirst again (own 4:14).

Even in the Old Testament we are told of the satisfaction we find in Him. Psalm 63:3-5 says, “ Because Your loving kindness is better than life, my lips will praise You. So I will bless You as long as I live; I will life up my hands in Your name. My soul is satisfied as with marrow and fatness, And my mouth offers praises with joyful lips.”

If you haven’t experienced this type of true satisfaction, one that fulfills all your longings and offers you more than fleeting happiness, I offer you Jesus.

He is a free gift for the asking. He forgives all our sins and offers us a better path, a better way, a better life. He offers us something to live for outside of our mundane existence. He offers us a future and a hope. He offers us life eternal.

He is never far away. He hears the cry of the broken. He listens to the heart of the one turning from sin and looking for life. He hears those who call to Him.
