My People

It burns. It falls. The street fills with shouts of anger. Evil is good. Good is called evil. And so, the world collapses in bitterness as accusations fall on deaf ears.

We state hasty opinions and close our eyes and ears to others.

We placed our trust on a vote believing all would change soon.

But have we asked for an intervention? Have we sought the One who controls all things? Do we fully believe He controls all things? Did we even consider His part?

No. We hold our opinions, our logical thought, our ida of prosperity, rights, and what’s due us.

So we suffer. We struggle. We admit our lack of trust, our lack of faith, our lack of understanding by fighting, pushing, accusing, and lashing out at those who are different.

Instead we should seek His face. Cry out, beg for intervention greater than the powers that we see.

For who can say what God may do when His people seek Him humbly?

“If I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My people, and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place.” ~ 2 Chronicles 7:13-15
