Faith vs. Fear

Lately, I have had a battle going on…the battle of choosing faith over my fear. I am sure that I am not the only person that deals with this. In the past, fear has kept me from accomplishing goals and realizing my potential. It has kept me from obeying God. It has kept me a prisoner. Fear has been a part of my life for many years. So many in fact, that at times I forget what it feels like to live without it.

Fear was never the plan God had for me…for us. Fear keeps us from stepping out in faith to follow God. Fear keeps us cowered in the corner as others run the race for victory. Fear tells us we cannot, will not, and that we are completely unable. Fear is a liar…

[2 Timothy 1:7 NASB] 7 For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.

Timidity is cowardice or fear. That is never from God.

Today I am choosing to ignore the fear…it is a liar anyway!

I choose to believe God’s voice. I believe that what He has called me to do, He will see me through. He is faithful.

Fear is not from God.

What is from God? Power to break through the fear. Love to cover a multitude of sin, and discipline to run with endurance and not grow weary.

Let’s choose to live in power and break the chains of fear.

Let’s choose to love others in a radical way as Jesus loved us.

Let’s choose to be disciplined enough to walk daily by faith, run with endurance, and not grow weary.
