Broken Pieces

I am broken.

If you do not know me, I can assure you it is true.

There are times I may be smiling and engaged. At times this is just my effort to be a part of what is occurring around me. At other times I am completely closed off and this is also a conscious effort to avoid interaction. Remember that I am broken.

Know that I understand my failures. I see them more plainly than you do. Not always I admit. Sometimes I am blinded by my own pride and fail to see what is obvious to others. I am broken.

In Christ, I have been made whole again, but I still struggle with the break. Healing comes with forgiveness and uprooting of bitterness. It is something I struggle with. Deep wounds take a long time to heal. This healing takes longer when we pick at our own wounds and open them back up again. I am broken.

Why do I share this? It feels safe here. If you are one of the broken, then know that I understand. I do not judge you. We share a kindred spirit. Christ came for us! He came for the broken and outcast. He came for the sick and afflicted. He came for those who understood that they could never be righteous enough to stand before a Holy God on their own. Those who are not broken do not need a physician. He came to be our advocate. Take pleasure in that.

I am broken, but I know the one who forgives all my sin. I am broken, but I know who can mend my broken heart. I am broken and can relate to those who are broken. I am broken, but I know the healer of brokenness.

Psalm 147:3 says, “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”

Take joy in knowing that our brokenness does not go unnoticed. The healer is present and wants to start the process of healing in our life.

I am broken, but His healing is taking place.
